Jay Contway

In 2008, Jay Contway was inducted into the newly created Calgary Stampede Western Art Hall of Fame, an honor that he shares with his oldest Canadian friends.

He has been selling art and creating trophies for rodeo and chuckwagon events since 1976.

Jay Contway was born and raised in Malta, Montana but has lived in Great Falls, Montana for the past 40 years. He owns his own foundry where he casts his work and is involved with every step of the process that produces his sculptures. 

Jay is best known for the “action” he is able to create in bronze. Winning cowboys appreciate the detail and accuracy of a Jay Contway bronze.

Jay has raised cattle and working quarter horses, hunted and fished. He has been involved in the events he sculpts and each of these things gives credence to artwork he creates.
