The idea for a Centennial Cookbook presented itself at a Western Showcase meeting in Fall 2011, and we were excited to get started. The Calgary Stampede is built on the spirit of hospitality, and where does hospitality start, but in the kitchen! Come n' Get It! is a mix of recipes old and new. They come from volunteers, staff, vendors, sponsors, and friends of the Calgary Stampede...a few special recipes come from the kitchen of Flores LaDue, wife and partner of Guy Weadick, the legendary promoter and creator of the first Calgary Stampede. We hope these recipes will inspire you to create your very own brand of Western Hospitality, and share the "Stampede Spirit" in your kitchen.
