Jan Chalupnicek  

Jan was born in Praque. He left his homeland in 1968 and arrived in Canada in 1969. Once here Jan continued his fine art study at the University of Windsor. Jan's early work was in tempera, watercolor and oil. He also did printmaking, sculpture and acrylic. He now works mostly in oils and acrylic as a full time Calgary artist. Jan loves to paint in deep contrast of light and dark. His passion is to paint landscapes and the Rocky Mountains.
