Awards
Students in their final year of high school are invited to submit artwork for jury consideration. Created in 1986 to encourage youth in Southern Alberta to consider post-secondary education in the field of their choice-not limited to art.
Western artists and those proficient in the field of art lend their time and skills to jury all entries. The panel for 2010 consisted of artists and those knowledgeable in art:
Doug Swinton
Michelle Grant
Ryan Axani
Holly McWilliams
Jeannie Woods
Scholarships are awarded to three students attending high schools within the city of Calgary and three students attending high schools in Southern Alberta. Students have two years from the time of winning to access funds.
Proceeds from the sale of Quick Draw/Quick Finish art at the Art Auction fund the scholarship. Winning entries are displayed for the duration of the Stampede in Hall D and E, Western Showcase area of the BMO Centre.
