Grade 12 Western Art Scholarship

The Grade 12 Western Art Scholarship has been awarding scholarships to students in Calgary and surrounding area for more than 36 years, with over 100 scholarships being presented. The Grade 12 Western Art Scholarship committee continues to judge and award scholarships to promising young artists completing Grade 12 to contribute to the post-secondary education program of their choice.

Our vision is to foster youth education through the celebration and advocacy of Western art.

Artist in Action Event
Artist in Action is a unique live artist demonstration and sale for students and Stampede guests. Students have 1- 2 hours to finish a piece of art while interacting with guests. All pieces are for sale, and proceeds will benefit the Grade 12 Western Art Scholarship. We look forward to seeing you at one of these exciting events during Stampede.

All donations are gratefully accepted at any time and will help us to further the education of promising young Albertans. Your donations can be made directly to the Calgary Stampede Foundation. Please designate your donation to the “Grade 12 Western Art Scholarship.” A tax receipt will be issued.

Your support is greatly appreciated!

“When I heard about the opportunity to be the Calgary Stampede’s 2019 Poster artist, I thought how amazing would it be to part of a piece of history? Not only was this a great development opportunity for young artists, but to have the opportunity to work and learn alongside local Albertan artists was nothing short of incredible. I am honoured to have been chosen as the artist of the 2019 Calgary Stampede poster and the winner of the 2014 Grade 12 Western Art Scholarship, throughout the entire process I learned so much about myself, my connection to my western heritage and that perseverance and hard work does pay off.”
