Western Art Gallery
Preserving the Past—Embracing the Future
The Western Art Gallery features new and emerging artists who create original works that reflect the life and times of western Canadians of the past and present. We provide a unique opportunity for visitors to the Calgary Stampede to own original art that contributes to the preservation and promotion of western heritage and values.
In keeping with our motto of 'Preserving the Past—Embracing the Future,'the Western Art Gallery presents an art show featuring both traditional and contemporary works that reflect the fusion of rural and urban influencesand a rich culture that is truly one of a kind (excluding west coast imagery).
The Western Art Gallery is part of the Western Showcase art show located in the BMO Centre (formerly the Roundup Centre). Each year artists are selected by a jury process to show their work in the Gallery. These works are sold on behalf of the artists during the 10 days of Stampede by our dedicated volunteers.
