Pure Country, Bluegrass maybe, Rockabilly at times, Roots and Folk for sure, Southern Rock ya, Gospel?... At any given time you may see Larry performing as a solo singer song writer act or as a two, three piece to a full five and six piece act. From the Calgary Stampede to North and South Country fairs, Craven Big Valley Jamboree, Dawson City Yukon, Lakeside Noorn Netherlands, to the Gospel musical worship team at his local church.
His experience through his musical journeys has given him: crafted song writing skills, entertainment value, and professionalism. He has been fortunate to play on the same main stages with such acts as Waylon Jennings, Marty Stewart, Michael Wright, Trooper, Prairie Oyster, to name a few.
Some people have that ability to draw audiences in by telling the stories behind the songs. Ian Tyson, Randy Backman comes to mind, Larry abilities over flow in this area with his honesties and humor, giving his performances originality and purpose to audiences young and young at heart.
Larry comes from a musical back ground that he gives full credit to his mom. “When I started my first band Straight Clean & Simple, the best musician I could find was my mom, who ended up playing piano in my band for 18 years. Not too many mother, son bands that I can recall”. Since those early beginnings Larry has taken those strong family values, experiences and has added them to his performances and song writing skills. He has gained many friendships with fellow musician, peers and artist over the years and employs these musical friends in his band. “I am really lucky to get to do what I love to do, write songs, play music with such great musicians and the best part is we are all family and friends”.
