Stampede Talent Search
For 35 years the Stampede Talent Search has provided a stage for talented young artists to get their chance to shine: Artists like Paul Brandt, and 2014 Grandstand Show headlining performers; 2008 Champion, James “Peterpot” McInnes, and 2012 Champion, Annika Odegard.
A number of past contestants and finalists are performing on park as part of this year’s Stampede: On the Coca-Cola stage, international sensation “Keizsa” and almost daily at Nashville North, is our 1999 Champion Trevor Panczak.
Each spring, a Canada-wide casting call brings top young singers, dancers, actors, musicians and variety performers between the ages of 6 and 21 to audition for a spot in this year’s Stampede week competition. This year’s contestants represent every province from British Columbia to Ontario.
Junior performers ages 6 to 12 will compete for a chance to be a featured performer. And contestants ages 13 to 21 will compete for development opportunities, the President’s Trophy, a custom one-of-a-kind belt buckle, and the $10,000 cash Grand Prize.
To mark the 35th Anniversary, an exceptional panel of industry judges including W. Brett Wilson and Bill Avery, former producer of the Grandstand Show and Young Canadians, will help select this year’s Champion.
The Stampede Talent Search is a FREE EVENT with park Admission. Shows are nightly – no shows July 8 and 12 – in the Boyce Theatre at 6:30 pm.
We’re excited to have here today a rising star – a contestant from this year’s Stampede Talent Search competition to shine on our stage for you now.
